OTHER NEWS
Deep Space Nine and Andromeda Producer Robert Hewitt Wolfe are developing a new as yet untitled Starship TV Series for The Syfy Channel. Not many details are known yet, however the official press release sums it up like this:  "After decades of war, the newly formed Unity Democracy orders a volatile mix of humans and trans-humans to lead the Starship Defender on an expedition in search of lost worlds requiring law and order."

As he gets ready to step into the role as The Man Of Steel, actor Henry Cavill says he won't watch other "Superman" movies. "I avoided watching anything which was someone else’s interpretation of the source material. I didn’t go back to the movies and watch them. I didn’t go back to the TV series and watch them. Where the character truly belongs and where the character truly comes from is not from the movies or the TV shows; it’s from the comic books. So I went straight to the comic books and had stacks of them and just read and read and read and read and read".

"Independence Day" Director Rolland Emmerich's must have been startled after his new movie "Singularity" was shut down because, according to Sony Pictures...it's not good enough! Emmerich was all set to start screen-testing actors, however Sony put on the brakes and asked him to make it better before spending any more money on it.
Emmerich has retained the services of futurist and author Raymond Kurzweil to help with the revisions. Here's the plot, according to Variety: Set 50 years in the future, story follows a famous nanotechnology pioneer who uses a dangerous new procedure to save his badly-injured son, whose consciousness is transferred into a swarm of nanobots that take his physical form, giving him all sorts of powers.

The BBC and Starz Entertainment have green-lit a new original adventure series titled "Da Vinci’s Demons". Written by David S Goyer. The eight-episode series is scheduled to begin production in early 2012. It's an historical fantasy following the untold story of the world’s greatest genius during his youth in Renaissance Florence. Goyer said: “Da Vinci was the original Renaissance man. A near-mythic figure that has worldwide appeal.
