OTHER NEWS
ABC has canceled "V". Multiple outlets are reporting that it’s pretty much official that “V” will not return for a third season. The show has been struggling like crazy to find an audience throughout its first two seasons, and hasn’t really developed much of a fan base.

It was announced a few weeks’ ago that the plans for a fifth "Terminator" movie were moving forward, with the announcement that Arnold Schwarzenegger was returning to the franchise, and Justin Lin was set to be calling the shots. However, there was the small matter of who would pay the bill for the film. The rights have been snapped up Annapurna Films, which beat off competition from Lionsgate. The screenplay for the new "Terminator" movie is currently being written and is going back to the premises of the first two films rather than the last two.

Warner Bros bought the film rights to the entire trilogy that launches with "Heaven's Shadow" by David S. Goyer & Michael Cassutt. Goyer is already set to write and direct the film, which will hit theatres as early at July 2012." The premise of the series, begins like a disaster movie, with the discovery of an object of unknown origin headed toward Earth. Speculation as to what this object might be runs high, and leads to an international competition to be the first to land on it, to claim both the prestige and whatever other benefits there might be.

Since its premiere, "Warehouse 13" has been an important part of Syfy's summer line-up and set a new record for the cable channel as the most watched series in its history. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Syfy is hoping to replicate the show’s success by commissioning a spin-off show based around the character of H.G. Wells. If the idea goes to series, Wells will find herself in the 1890's using her unique insights to solve the mysteries of that era.The third season of "Warehouse 13" begins on July 11.

One of the world's oldest science fiction movies, Georges Melies' "A Trip To The Moon", is premiering at Cannes with a restored print, in color, with a soundtrack by French electro duo Air. The massive restoration began in 1993 when a rare, hand-tinted print was uncovered in Barcelona. In 1999, Lobster Films began digitizing the footage frame by frame, and over ten years and 13,000 frames later, the film can now be seen in a full-blown color version, for the first time since its debut more than a century ago.

Director Darren Aronofsky has his sights set on a new movie based on a a fifteen-year-old original sci-fi spec script called "Human Nature" by a little-known screenwriter named Jeff Welch. It's rumored that George Clooney wants the lead as a man who is cryogenically frozen and wakes up years later to a world in which humans have become pets of another species.

Tech news site The Register recently held a poll to ask readers which Science Fiction book most deserves to make it to the big screen, but has up until now been shamefully overlooked by the Hollywood bigwigs. An impressive 27,088 people voted, and the winner, with a stunning 10,032 votes was "Use Of Weapons" by Iain M. Banks
