OTHER NEWS
NBC Universal continues to make money on shows that haven't even thought of airing a new episode in decades, and now one of the creators of those shows claims he's not being compensated. Glen A. Larson filed suit claiming NBCU cheated him out of royalties he should've earned with properties such as "Battlestar Galactica," "Knight Rider" and "Six Million Dollar Man." Larson says over all the years since running those shows NBCU has yet to send him a single profit participation statement.Larson has been involved with Universal since 1975, and maintains a deal that provides him net profits from the shows he created.

Production is moving along for the "Total Recall" remake with Colin Farrell. The Summer 2012 film is being directed by Len Wiseman. The reality-warping film gets rid of all that Mars stuff from the original and concentrates on two opposing future power blocs instead. Farrell describes the movie as ‘much less jokey’ than the 1990 version. He claims that the tone will be completely different than what we saw in the past. Is Ridley Scott worried about filming his new movie "Prometheus" at the foot of Iceland's active Hekla volcano? Not at all. "If one is afraid of nature in this profession then it would be best to find a different job,"  Filming began today for the sci-fi epic, which stars Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Noomi Rapace. Scott will be in Iceland for two weeks to shoot what will comprise a short portion of the film: "It will be 15 minutes in total, if all goes to plan."

Strange things are happening within Microsoft. The company is fighting multiple fronts: PCs, smartphones, gaming and soon, tablets. There's just one tiny problem: fragmentation and a lack of total synergy between its Windows 7/8, Windows Phone 7 and Xbox platforms. A brand new OS that unifies all of those could be Microsoft's savior.Microsoft's vision isn't new. Companies have been trying to create synergy for years. It's just been easier to develop for each platform separately.
